About Me

My name is Alyssia Bray and I am currently in my

second and final year of my master's in educational

and counselling psychology, Learning Science

program at McGill university. In 2022, I graduated

with a bachelor of Education - TESL (Teaching

English as a Second Language) also from McGill

university. I was born and raised just outside

of Montreal. I love helping others as much as

possible and I live for adventure and the creation of

new experiences. Teaching is therefore THE job for

me. I have the opportunity to help young people

reach their potential while learning from them as

well.

I am a language learner

My first language is English however, I attended

French elementary and high school and as such

needed to learn the language. I believe that is there

were my love of languages comes from. At a very young age, I

saw how freeing and how many doors can be opened being able to speak not one but two languages. Furthermore, I have taken several Spanish courses in cegep and have continued to learn as much as possible. Becoming an ESL teacher is therefore the perfect opportunity for me to help others know such freedom. I wish to impart my love of languages, especially English, on as many students as possible.

I am a "You Only Live Once" person

I am the type of person who believes that we should live in the moment, learn and do as much as we can because life is beautiful and we must take advantage of all the opportunities we are given. Life is a beautiful adventure which education helps enrich. Therefore, as a teacher, I see myself as the one responsible for helping students achieve their potential so that they can go out and live wonderful lives outside of the classroom.

With languages, you are at home anywhere.
                                                           - Edmund De Waal

It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.
                                                                                            - E.E. Cummings

If you fail, never give up because F.A.I.L. means "First Attempt In Learning".
End is not the end, in fact E.N.D. means "Effort Never Dies".
If you get no as an answer, remember N.O. means "Next Opportunity".                                                                                             - A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
